MailMerge problem

I want to allow the user to select suppliers for a mailshot and create a comma delimited file for the user so they can carry out a mailmerge using OpenOffice or MsWord. My aim was to export the file to the users local drive, however, I have tried using the OUTPUT command but this only creates a file on the server. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
