Creating a variable with a text string from select-eachrow

Hello everyone,

I have a simple one I think tht I can not get past. So hope you can help.

I want to select a single field from the table and string the results into a ; seperated list.

For example:

I want the end result to be something like: scott;dave;matt;lisa;beth

<!--select name From table --!>
<!--eachrow--!>
<!--set $newname$=$newname$;$name$--!>
<!--endrow--!>

$newname$ are all the names found.

Any suggetions on what I am doing wrong or how to create the single varable with this long string of info?
